The Process | The History

In 2002, several business consultants in California discovered that businesses of many sizes could benefit from a more professional telephone presence. From the provision of several answering machine, corporate IVR, and PBX telephony solutions came the model for affordable, pre-recorded custom phone prompts and voiceovers. Proprompts is now a turn-key provider of professional scriptwriting and voice talent for telephone systems, kiosks, cell phone, and electronic devices.

We met the principals of ProPrompts through family, and they introduced us to their original business model. ProPrompts then asked Resonant Media to develop a brand, identity, and website to support their unique business idea.

The graphic foundation for the identity was immediately apparent, and the brand name followed suit. There would be a microphone, and a man in a suit: Proprompts was born. The conceptual stage was over as quickly as it began, mitigating the need for a traditional exploratory process.

What followed, however, was considerable time with composition, colors, and spatial relationships between elements. The visual concept demanded attention.

We scoured the internet and stock imagery archives for faces, microphones, business attire, and other professional elements for inspiration. We composited different elements, cutting and pasting our favorite parts into a Dada mash. The execution, positioning, textures, and lighting were rehashed.

When the arrangement finally began to gel for both us and our client, we illustrated the entire concept from scratch, adding heavily modified typeface manipulations and metrics.

See it.
